Brad Mills Orthodontics

Since 1986, Dr. Brad Mills has been striving to deliver their signature ‘Brad Mills Smile’ to the surrounding communities of Paducah, Mayfield, and Murray. You may be asking yourself, “What exactly is a ‘Brad Mills Smile’?” Beautiful, artistic, and original – Mills focuses on smile width, smile arc, and finishing touches to assure each and every patient leaves satisfied beyond expectation.

“A broad wide smile makes you appear more youthful and provides facial support while you age, which is why we add focus to ones smile width. Artistically, the upper front teeth should follow the lower lip line to create a smile arc,” says Mills. “A Brad Mills smile doesn’t draw attention to any one part of the smile. It’s a harmonious blend from front to back.”

Dr. Brad is a 3rd consecutive generation to graduate from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, then going on to complete his orthodontic residency at the University of Tennessee.

Dr. Brad’s oldest son, Stuart, recently graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry as the 4th consecutive generation this past May and has begun a three year orthodontic residency at West Virginia University.

Up until December 2021, Mills has three physical offices located in Paducah, Mayfield, and Murray. Unfortunately, when the historic EF5 tornado devastated the Mayfield region, the office located downtown was also destroyed.

This particular office was very special, as his grandfather, father, and Brad himself all practiced under the roof of that building at one time.

“We can’t wait to rebuild and continue serving the Mayfield community,” said Mills.

During your first visit you will get acquainted with the process and procedures. The team will discuss your customized treatment options in detail, estimated treatment length, and the associated costs. The initial consultation is complimentary.

Just a few of Mills’ most popular treatments include Damon Braces, which have a gentler force, produce broad, wide and natural smiles, faster treatment plans, metal or clear bracket options, and more. Mills also offers Spark aligners, which hides the treatment instead of your smile. You’re able to brush and floss without wires to work around and remove your aligners to eat meals and snacks.

Interceptive treatment is also available, as Dr. Brad recommends that every child be evaluated between the ages of 6 and 8 years old. At that early age, it’s possible to determine if there are issues related to the child’s growth or tooth positions that should be addressed sooner rather than later. Early, interceptive treatment like braces for kids can be recommended for correcting crossbites, underbites, extreme crowding, under or over-developed jaws that affect the profile and bite, as well as constricted airways.

With early orthodontic treatment, we can take a less invasive, preventative approach. Addressing developmental concerns while the bones are growing, giving us the ability to avoid more invasive approaches (such as jaw surgery) in the future,” said Mills.

For kids who don’t require early treatment, Mills has a growth and guidance program where they see kids at least three times a year to monitor their growth and determine the right time and options for orthodontic treatment.

At Brad Mills Orthodontics, we believe everyone should be able to afford a healthy and confident smile. At your first appointment, the team will provide you with a complimentary benefit check to review what your insurance coverage will be so that you can plan accordingly. Orthodontic insurance varies depending on your carrier and plan. Treatment costs can also range depending on the severity of treatment and the type of treatment recommended.

“We can’t wait to meet you and welcome you to our office! Our team is committed to making your treatment as easy and enjoyable as possible, in a friendly and welcoming environment,” said Mills.
